1Section I - Age 11 and under (5 min)
2Section II - Age 12-13 (5 min)
3Section III - Age 14-15 (6 min)
4Section IV - Age 16-18 (6 min)
5Section V - Age 19-21 (8 min)
Requirements
Rules and guidelines for this division
- Memorization is required
- Only one piece OR one movement of a multi-movement work is required (ex: one movement of a standard concerto, sonata, or a concert-piece)
- Repertoire must be chosen from the standard literature, and should demonstrate excellent musicianship and proper technique
- No changes in repertoire are allowed following application submission
- No cutting or rearranging the music is permitted, except for the piano part
- Each entrant must provide his or her own pianist
- At least ONE Original score needs to be given to the judges
- Accompanists must have original music
